DEEP PURPLE, YNGWIE, Ex-WHITESNAKE Members Jam At U.K. Charity Gig

The "Gransdens' 10th Anniversary Blues and Soul Charity Concert", organized by DEEP PURPLE keyboardist Don Airey, took place on July 12 in Cambridge, England. Former RAINBOW and current YNGWIE MALMSTEEN singer Doogie White participated in the event and offered his thoughts on the show:

"Don Airey had four songs in mind for me to sing," White writes on his web site. "'25 Or 6 To 4' by CHICAGO, 'Gimme All Your Lovin'', 'Superstition' and 'Dazed & Confused'. We got together at Don's place and never got to 'Dazed…' because we replaced it with 'Black Night' and 'Hard to Handle'. The gig was great, about 1000 people enjoying a night of quality music in temperatures normally associated with the Gobi desert. As I was finishing up my vocals on the last song I could see [former WHITESNAKE guitarist] Bernie Marsden just off stage. He asked me after I came off if I fancied singing a couple of WHITESNAKE tunes with him and [fellow ex-WHITESNAKE axeman] Micky Moody. A top night for me and hopefully everyone else."
